Viewing and Exporting Call Logs on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition
Rather not do this yourself?
X2Comms Managed Edition customers don't need this guide — we handle all configuration and system changes as part of the service. Not yet with X2Comms? We deploy and fully configure Yeastar systems from day one. Call 03301025678 to find out more.
Introduction
The CDR (Call Detail Record) log is a complete record of every call that passes through the PBX — inbound, outbound, internal, missed, and answered. It is the primary tool for investigating call issues, resolving disputes, and reporting on call volume.
Accessing call logs
- Go to Reports > CDR.
- The log loads showing the most recent calls.
CDR columns explained
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Time | Date and time the call started |
| Duration | Total call duration (ring time + talk time) |
| Talk Duration | Time the call was actually answered and talking |
| Status | Answered, No Answer, Busy, Failed |
| From | Caller's extension or external number |
| To | Destination extension, ring group, IVR, or external number |
| DID | The phone number the caller dialled (your DDI) |
| Trunk | Which SIP trunk carried the call |
| Recording | Play or download icon if the call was recorded |
Filtering the log
Use the search and filter bar at the top of the CDR page:
| Filter | Use it to... |
|---|---|
| Date range | View calls for a specific period |
| Extension | See all calls to/from one person |
| Call Type | Inbound / Outbound / Internal |
| Status | Filter to missed calls only |
| DID | Filter by which of your phone numbers received the call |
Exporting call logs
- Apply any filters you want.
- Click Export.
- Choose CSV format.
- The file downloads immediately — open in Excel or Google Sheets.
Typical use cases
Finding a missed call:
Filter by Status = "No Answer" and the date/time range. The "From" column shows the caller's number.
Checking if a call was recorded:
Find the call in CDR — if recording is enabled, a play icon appears in the Recording column.
Investigating a complaint ("I called at 3pm and no one answered"):
Filter by the relevant DID and time range. The CDR will show exactly what happened to that call — which destination it went to, whether it rang, and whether it was answered.
Monthly call volume report:
Export the full month to CSV and use Excel pivot tables to summarise by extension, call type, or status.
Tips
- CDR data is retained on Cloud Edition for 90 days by default. Export records you need to keep longer.
- The Statistics report (Reports > Statistics) gives pre-built charts of call volume by hour, day, or extension — useful for spotting patterns without manual analysis.
- You can access CDR directly from the Status Centre dashboard by clicking on an active call.
Summary
The CDR log gives you a complete audit trail of all calls. Use filters to find specific calls quickly, and export to CSV for management reporting.
