Setting Up the Linkus Mobile App for Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition

Linkus mobile app iOS Android remote working softphone

Introduction

Linkus is Yeastar's unified communications app for iOS and Android smartphones. It allows users to make and receive business calls on their office extension number from anywhere — without giving out their personal mobile number.

What Linkus can do

  • Make and receive calls using your business extension number
  • See colleagues' presence (available, busy, away, DND)
  • Access the company phone directory
  • Check and listen to voicemails
  • Chat with colleagues (if Chat is enabled on your plan)
  • Switch calls between devices mid-conversation

Step 1 — Enable Linkus for the extension

  1. Go to Extension and Trunk > Extension and click the user's extension.
  2. Click the Linkus tab.
  3. Enable Linkus Mobile Client.
  4. Set a User Password if one hasn't been set already (under User Information) — the user needs this to log into Linkus.
  5. Click Save and Apply.

Step 2 — Send the setup email

  1. Still on the Linkus tab, click Send Email.
  2. The user receives an email containing:
  3. A QR code to scan during app setup
  4. A manual configuration link as a backup
  5. Their login credentials

Step 3 — User installs Linkus

  • iOS: search "Linkus" on the App Store (published by Yeastar)
  • Android: search "Linkus" on Google Play (published by Yeastar)

Step 4 — User scans the QR code

  1. Open the Linkus app.
  2. Tap Scan QR Code.
  3. Point the camera at the QR code in the email.
  4. The app connects and logs in automatically — no manual server entry needed.

Step 5 — Test

Make a call from Linkus to an internal extension and confirm audio is clear in both directions. Receive a call on the extension and confirm Linkus rings.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely fix
QR code expired QR codes expire after 1 hour. Regenerate from the extension's Linkus tab and resend.
App connects but calls have no audio Check the mobile's microphone permission is granted to Linkus (iOS/Android Settings > Linkus > Microphone)
iOS not ringing for incoming calls Enable Background App Refresh for Linkus in iOS Settings, and ensure notifications are allowed
App shows "Registration failed" The User Password may be incorrect. Reset it under User Information and resend the email.

Tips

  • Cloud Edition handles remote access automatically — Linkus works over mobile data and any Wi-Fi network without VPN or extra configuration.
  • iOS users should enable Allow Linkus to use VoIP in iOS Settings for the most reliable incoming call delivery.
  • Users can transfer calls between Linkus and a desk phone mid-call using the Transfer button in the app.

Summary

Users can now make and receive business calls from their smartphone anywhere in the world. Their personal mobile number stays private — all calls use their office extension number.
