Adding UK Bank Holidays to Your Yeastar Cloud PBX

Introduction

If your business closes on UK bank holidays, you can add those dates to your PBX so calls route automatically to an out-of-hours message — no manual action required on the day. This guide covers adding bank holidays to Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition.

Menu path

PBX Settings > Holiday, click Add.

Adding individual bank holiday dates

For each bank holiday in the upcoming year:

1. Go to PBX Settings > Holiday.
2. Click Add.
3. Fill in:
4. Name: e.g. Christmas Day 2025
5. Type: One-time (for a specific date) or Recurring (for same date every year)
6. Start Date / End Date: e.g. 2025-12-25 (single-day) or 2025-12-25 to 2025-12-26 for a two-day closure
7. All Day: Enable this — unless you have partial-day closure
8. Click Save.

Repeat for each bank holiday.

UK bank holidays 2025 (England & Wales)

Scotland and Northern Ireland have different bank holiday dates. If your business has offices in these regions, check the UK Government website for the full list.

Making holiday dates route calls correctly

Once holidays are added, ensure your inbound route or time condition is set to use them:

1. Go to Call Control > Inbound Route and edit your main route.
2. Enable Time Condition and confirm the holiday routing is configured.
3. Under Holidays Destination, set the destination (e.g. your out-of-hours IVR or voicemail).
4. Click Save and Apply.

Recurring holidays (same date every year)

For holidays that always fall on the same date (e.g. Christmas Day is always 25 December):
- Set Type to Recurring.
- The PBX applies this holiday every year automatically — no need to re-enter it.

Tips

• Update bank holiday dates every January — some dates shift year to year (e.g. bank holidays that fall on a weekend are moved to the following Monday).
• Add a Christmas Period holiday spanning 25–26 December as a multi-day entry to cover both days with a single entry.
• Test holiday routing a few days before — call your main number on the holiday date using the override feature to verify the out-of-hours message plays.

Summary

Add each bank holiday under PBX Settings > Holiday. Once linked to your time conditions, calls route automatically to your holiday message on those dates. Update the list every January.
