Temporarily Overriding Business Hours on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition

override close early open on bank holiday manual time condition

Rather not do this yourself?

X2Comms Managed Edition customers don't need this guide — we handle all configuration and system changes as part of the service. Not yet with X2Comms? We deploy and fully configure Yeastar systems from day one. Call 03301025678 to find out more.

Introduction

Sometimes you need to close early (early finish Friday, emergency closure) or open on a bank holiday. Rather than deleting and recreating your time conditions, Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition lets you manually override the current routing mode from any phone.

How the override works

Time conditions have two modes:
- Auto mode — routing follows the schedule automatically (normal day-to-day operation)
- Manual mode — you force a specific routing (open or closed) regardless of the time

Finding your time condition feature codes

  1. Go to PBX Settings > Feature Codes.
  2. Look for feature codes in the Time Condition section — there will be a code for each time condition you've created.
  3. Note the feature code for the time condition you want to override.

Typical codes are in the 8XX range (e.g. *80 to toggle a specific condition). The exact codes depend on how many time conditions you have and in what order they were created.

Closing early — switching to out-of-hours mode

From any internal phone, dial the time condition's feature code.

The PBX voice prompt confirms which mode you've switched to:
- "Business hours mode enabled" — calls route as if it's business hours
- "Holiday mode enabled" or "Non-business hours mode enabled" — calls route as if it's after hours

Dial the code again to switch back.

Returning to automatic scheduling

To return to automatic time-based routing:
1. Dial the feature code again.
2. The PBX cycles through: Auto → Open → Closed → Auto.
3. Continue pressing until you hear "Auto mode enabled".

Or in the admin portal:
1. Go to PBX Settings > Business Hours (or wherever your time condition is configured).
2. Find the time condition and confirm it is set to Auto mode.

Planning ahead — adding a one-off holiday

For known closures (a team training day, a special event), it's better to add a holiday date in advance rather than using the manual override:

  1. Go to PBX Settings > Holiday.
  2. Click Add and enter the date.
  3. On that day, calls will automatically follow your holiday routing — no manual action needed.

Tips

  • Put a note in your calendar or staff diary reminding you to switch back after a manual override — it's easy to forget, leaving the system in the wrong mode the next morning.
  • The dashboard Status Centre shows the current routing mode for each time condition — useful to confirm what mode the system is in.

Summary

Dial the time condition feature code from any internal phone to force an open or closed state. Dial again to return to automatic mode. For planned closures, add a holiday date in advance instead.
