Setting Up a 3-Way Conference Call on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition

Introduction

Sometimes you need to bring a third person into an active call — a manager, a colleague with specialist knowledge, or a second party for a negotiation. Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition supports ad-hoc 3-way calls directly from a desk phone or the Linkus app.

On a Yealink desk phone

Method 1 — Consultation hold and merge

1. While on an active call with Person A, press the Hold soft key to put them on hold.
2. Dial Person B's number (extension or external).
3. When Person B answers, press the Conference soft key (may show as Conf).
4. All three parties are now in a conference call.

Method 2 — Using the Conference feature key

Some Yealink models have a dedicated Conf line key:
1. During an active call, press the Conf key.
2. Dial the third party.
3. When they answer, press Conf again to merge.

In Linkus Mobile

1. During an active call, tap the Add Call button (+ icon).
2. Dial or search for the third party.
3. When they answer, tap Merge to combine into a 3-way call.

In Linkus Desktop

1. During an active call, click Add Call.
2. Dial the third party.
3. When answered, click Merge Calls.

Dial *23 during a call to initiate an ad-hoc conference — follow the voice prompts.

Limitations of ad-hoc 3-way calls

• Ad-hoc conferences are typically limited to 3 participants.
• For larger meetings (4+ people), use the dedicated Conference Room feature instead.

Using a Conference Room for larger calls

1. Go to Call Features > Conference.
2. Create a conference room with a room number (e.g. 6800) and optional PIN.
3. All participants dial the room number to join — no limit on participants (subject to your plan).
4. Participants can join from internal extensions or external phone numbers via an inbound route.

Tips

• If you need to drop one person from a 3-way call, press Split (if available on your phone) to return to individual calls, then end the unwanted call and press Merge to reconnect with the remaining party.
• Conference room calls can be recorded — enable recording on the conference room under Call Features > Conference > Recording.

Summary

For quick 3-way calls, use Hold + Dial + Merge on your desk phone or Linkus. For larger meetings, set up a Conference Room and share the room number with participants.
