How to Transfer a Call on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition

transfer blind transfer attended transfer warm transfer

Introduction

Transferring a call passes an active call to another extension or external number. There are two types: a blind transfer (transfer without speaking to the recipient first) and an attended transfer (speak to the recipient before connecting the caller). Both work on desk phones and the Linkus app.

Feature codes

Action Code
Blind transfer ## (then dial the destination)
Attended transfer *3 (then dial the destination)

These are the default feature codes. Your system may differ — check PBX Settings > Feature Codes to confirm.

Blind transfer (on a Yealink desk phone)

A blind transfer connects the caller to the destination immediately, without you speaking to the destination first.

  1. While on an active call, press the Transfer soft key (or the physical Transfer button on the handset).
  2. Dial the extension number or external number.
  3. Press Transfer again (or hang up) — the call is transferred immediately.
  4. The recipient's phone rings; when they answer they are connected to the original caller.

Attended (warm) transfer (on a Yealink desk phone)

An attended transfer lets you introduce the call before connecting.

  1. While on an active call, press the Transfer soft key.
  2. Dial the destination extension.
  3. Wait for the recipient to answer — speak to them and announce the caller.
  4. Press Transfer again to connect the two parties.
  5. You are disconnected; the caller and recipient are now connected.

If the recipient doesn't answer or declines, press Cancel to return to the original caller.

Transferring in Linkus Mobile or Desktop

  1. While on an active call, tap/click the Transfer button.
  2. Choose Blind Transfer or Attended Transfer.
  3. Search for or type the extension number.
  4. For blind: tap Transfer — done.
  5. For attended: tap Call, speak to the recipient, then tap Transfer to connect.

Transferring to an external number

The same steps apply — simply dial the full external number instead of an extension. The outbound route must allow the call type (e.g. mobile, international).

Tips

  • Before transferring a caller, tell them: "I'll transfer you to John in accounts — please hold." This sets expectations if the transfer takes a moment.
  • If you transfer and the recipient's phone rings but is not answered, the call typically returns to you after a configurable timeout (set under PBX Settings > General > Transfer).
  • You can also transfer directly from the CDR logs if a call was accidentally disconnected — call back and use attended transfer to reconnect parties.

Summary

Blind transfer passes a call immediately to the destination. Attended transfer lets you introduce the caller first. Both are available on desk phones and the Linkus app.
