Setting Up Linkus Desktop Client on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition

Introduction

Linkus Desktop is a standalone PC application (Windows and Mac) that turns your computer into a business phone. It is more powerful than Linkus Web — it runs in the system tray, delivers incoming call notifications even when the window is minimised, and supports all call features including transfer, hold, conference, and BLF presence.

Download and install

1. In the PBX admin portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, click the user's extension.
2. Click the Linkus tab.
3. Click the Download Desktop Client link — this takes you to the Yeastar download page.
4. Alternatively, download directly from: www.yeastar.com/linkus-clients/
5. Install for Windows (Linkus-Setup.exe) or macOS (Linkus.dmg).

First-time setup

Option A — Scan QR code (easiest)

1. In the admin portal, edit the extension, click Linkus tab, and click Send Email.
2. The user receives an email with a QR code.
3. Open the Linkus Desktop app → click Scan QR Code and use the phone camera to scan the code on screen.

Option B — Manual configuration

1. Open Linkus Desktop.
2. Click Add Account > Manual Setup.
3. Enter:
4. Server: Your PBX domain (e.g. yourcompany.ukycm.yeastarcloud.com)
5. Username: Extension number (e.g. 1001)
6. Password: User Password (set in Extension Information)
7. Click Login.

Key features of Linkus Desktop

Receiving calls

Linkus Desktop rings like a standard phone. A pop-up notification appears at the bottom of the screen showing the caller's name/number. Click Answer or Decline.

For notifications to work when Linkus is minimised:
- Windows: Ensure Linkus can run in the notification area (system tray). Allow notifications in Windows Settings.
- Mac: Allow Notifications for Linkus in System Preferences > Notifications.

Tips

• Linkus Desktop and Linkus Mobile can both be active on the same extension simultaneously — both ring when a call comes in, and whoever answers first takes the call.
• A USB headset (e.g. Jabra, Plantronics/Poly, Sennheiser) is strongly recommended for Linkus Desktop — far better audio quality than built-in laptop speakers and microphone.
• Enable Auto-start on login in Linkus Settings so users don't have to manually open it each morning.
