Checking and Managing Voicemail from Your Desk Phone

Introduction

Once voicemail is enabled on your extension, new messages can be accessed directly from your desk phone. This guide covers how to check, listen to, and manage messages using the phone's voicemail menu.

Accessing your voicemail

Dial *97 from your extension to access your own voicemail box.

When prompted, enter your Voicemail PIN (the 4–8 digit password set in your extension's Voicemail settings).

Voicemail menu options

Once you've entered your PIN, a voice menu guides you through your messages:

While listening to a message:

Checking another extension's voicemail

To check voicemail for a different extension (e.g. covering for a colleague):
1. Dial *98.
2. Enter the extension number when prompted.
3. Enter that extension's voicemail PIN.

Message waiting indicator

On Yealink phones, a red lamp on the handset body (MWI lamp) lights up when you have unheard voicemail messages. Dial *97 to listen and clear them.

Tips

• Record a personalised greeting so callers hear your name, not just the extension number. Dial *97, then press 0 for mailbox options, then 1 to record.
• Delete messages regularly — a full mailbox prevents new messages from being recorded (callers hear a "mailbox full" message).
• If you use the Linkus app, voicemails are also visible and playable in the app's Voicemail tab — no need to dial in.
