Call Park and Retrieve on Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition
Introduction
Call parking places a live call on hold in a numbered "parking slot" that any extension on the system can retrieve. It is useful when someone at reception takes a call for a colleague who is not at their desk — the receptionist parks the call, announces the slot number over the PA or via intercom, and the colleague dials the slot to pick up.
Default parking slots
Yeastar P-Series Cloud Edition provides parking slots in the range 6900–6999 by default.
- Park a call: transfer the active call to
6900(the main parking lot number) — the PBX assigns it to the next free slot and tells you the slot number (e.g. "Your call is parked in slot 6901"). - Retrieve a parked call: dial the slot number (e.g.
6901) from any extension.
Step-by-Step: Parking a call
On a Yealink desk phone
- While on an active call, press Transfer.
- Dial
6900. - Press Transfer again.
- The PBX announces the assigned slot number — remember or note it.
- Inform your colleague of the slot number.
In Linkus Mobile or Desktop
- During a call, tap Transfer > Blind Transfer.
- Type
6900and transfer. - The PBX voice announcement tells you the slot number.
Retrieving a parked call
From any extension, desk phone, or Linkus app:
1. Dial the slot number (e.g. 6901).
2. You are connected to the parked caller immediately.
Configuring parking settings
To adjust parking behaviour:
1. Go to Call Features > Call Parking.
2. Configurable options include:
- Parking Timeout (s) — how long a call waits before returning to the parker (default 60 seconds)
- Recall on Timeout — the parker's phone rings again if nobody retrieves the call
- Parking Slot Range — change the default 6900–6999 range if it conflicts with other numbers
Tips
- Announce parked calls over the office PA or use the intercom/paging feature to page a specific extension (e.g. "John, you have a call in slot 6901").
- If calls are frequently forgotten in parking, reduce the Parking Timeout so they return to the receptionist before the caller hangs up.
- You can check which slots are occupied from the Status Centre (Dashboard) — active parked calls show in the call list.
Summary
Call parking lets any extension pick up a held call. Park to slot 6900, note the slot number announced, and retrieve from any phone by dialling the slot.
